I have the privilege to assist people of various levels of ability, athletic experience, and stage of life to fulfill their goals in the multi-sport world. My focus is primarily with adaptive athletes. I have been involved with paratriathlon since 2014 and honored to be in the 2017 inaugural class of certified Paratriathlon coaches. As I strategically facilitate the navigation of overcoming physical & personal barriers through endurance sports, I get to dispense hope and promote balance in life, and health and wellness.
I practice a personal, comprehensive, science-based custom training program as the best approach to assist athletes in reaching their goals founded in a relationship of trust and communication. Every athlete has individual needs and real-life commitments whether they are beginners or seasoned competitors. Having 40 years pastoral experience, 30+ years endurance competition experience, including 9 Ironman finishes, 13+ years of certified coaching, and being a 3-time cancer survivor provides me a thorough basis to invest into athletes personally and professionally.
I believe it is important to have credentials, but equally necessary to have the essentials. Three characteristics of my coaching are being resilient, relevant, and relatable. Along with the camps, clinics and race events I produce, I have served the multisport community as a consultant, webinar content creator, presenter, and writing contributor for USAT. I am based out of Rio Rancho, New Mexico but serve athletes everywhere.
