Claudia Langarica’s journey into the world of triathlon began with a passion for movement and a love for the outdoors. Born and raised in Mexico City, Claudia was always active—riding bikes as a little girl and later falling in love with running. Her commitment to daily runs eventually led to injuries, but as fate would have it, she crossed paths with a group training for triathlons. Inspired, she gave it a try—and after her first race, she was hooked.

Since then, Claudia has embraced the triathlon lifestyle, balancing swimming, biking, and running with an infectious enthusiasm and a drive that’s fueled by passion and perseverance. Whether she’s training in Chicago or squeezing in workouts wherever she can, Claudia stays focused on what matters most: enjoying the journey, pushing her limits, and building lasting connections in the community.

Why She Loves Triathlon/Cycling:
For Claudia, training is more than physical…it’s therapy. It helps her stay clear-headed, grounded, and connected. She’s built deep friendships through sport and finds joy in racing and traveling with others who share her passion.

Current Goals:
Claudia is currently training for Ironman Kona, one of the most iconic races in the sport. Her goal? To show up prepared, race strong, and soak in every moment of the experience.

Proudest Achievement:
Resilience defines Claudia. After being hit by a car—twice—while riding her bike, she didn’t let fear or frustration take over. Instead, she focused on healing, rebuilding, and returning even stronger. It’s this strength of spirit that makes her not only a tough competitor but a true inspiration.

Off the Race Course:
When she’s not training or racing, Claudia enjoys shopping, traveling, and living life with the same energy and enthusiasm she brings to her sport. A very important part of her life is her six beloved dogs—two of whom are certified therapy dogs. Every Thursday, Claudia and her therapy dogs volunteer at a local hospital, a meaningful commitment that began after she spent two weeks in the hospital recovering from a serious accident. This experience inspired her to give back and bring comfort to others going through difficult times.
