USATF Level 1 Certified Coach
Trish Butler has been an avid runner most of her life, running at an elite level for over 40 years. Her running career began at an early age where she set an AAU age group national 1500m record. Additionally she celebrated many accomplishments as a multiple high school State Champion earning her All American status. Trish qualified for the US Olympic trials in the 1500m and she was a member of the 1980 NC State university National AIAW team championship. Currently, Trish is a member of the New Balance Tampa racing team. She is a two-time USATF Masters XC National Champion and two- time USATF Florida Athlete of the Year. Trish is a USATF level 1 certified coach, a member of the National High School Federation, Florida Athletic Coaches Association and the Alliance of Women’s coaches.
Trish’s proficiency and aptitude from years of training and racing has greatly influenced and enhanced her coaching career. Beginning with her numerous state championships and national championship at powerhouse St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale Trish went on to coach at NCAA DII Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she coached two national qualifiers as well as four NCAA All- South Region selections. Presently she is training several qualifiers to the National Jr Olympics.
As a wife, mother, grand-mother, coach and national class master’s athlete, Trish understands the determination, time constraints and fortitude necessary to achieve success and victory. Using her motivating abilities, knowledge and inspiration as an elite athlete/coach, Trish is able to develop individual training programs designed to challenge and progress any athlete regardless of ability or experience.
