Growing up, Shelby was very musical. She played standup bass for seven years with the highlight of her bass days playing in the pit for all of her high school theater’s musicals. Now, in the professional world, Shelby has continued to grow her artistic side as an Education Manager for a professional hair product manufacturer.

Shelby entered into the world of sport a couple of years ago as a way to combat depression. Not wanting to take medications, she had heard that exercise was a helpful alternative to help with depression. So, she dived in and found that it helped her out tremendously. From that moment forward she was hooked. She fell in the love with the training and then started signing up for races.

When Shelby is not traveling for work and training for triathlon, she loves to participate in Yoga classes, read, and most importantly, spend as much time as she can with her niece and nephew. She loves traveling back to Texas frequently to visit with her family and usual jumps in to a local 5k or 10k when she is there!

With COVID still hanging around, her 2020 race season may be short. Her first triathlon EVER is scheduled for later this year – hopefully it will be a go! In the meantime, she continues to rock her training and gain confidence with every swim, bike and run session. Keep it up Shelby!
